Stream Restoration Phase 2 Public Bid Notice

Interested Contractors –

Bid package to be available March 19, 2021 for the Anson B. Nixon Park Stream Restoration Phase 2 project.

The Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA) will be accepting bids for a stream restoration project in Anson B. Nixon Park. The project area is located on public property in Kennett Township and the Borough of Kennett Square, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Work will involve streambank grading and stabilization, in-stream structures, and erosion and sediment control measures per guidelines to be given at the mandatory site showing.

A mandatory site showing is scheduled for April 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the project site (see map available with the bid package). Please contact Sheila Tekavec, KAPA Office Manager, via email AnsonBNixonPark@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

Contractors must have and include in the package a demonstrated experience in knowledge and construction of successful stream restoration projects incorporating fluvial geomorphology (FGM).  Contractors must be familiar with the recommendations of the Pennsylvania Stream Team.  Contractors are required to address all conditions of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP)/ United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) stream encroachment approvals and erosion and sediment control measures required by the Chester County Conservation District and PADEP Chapter 102 regulations.  Contractors are required to address all conditions of Chester County Conservation District and PADEP Chapter 102 regulations.  Approvals are in hand and issued to Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA) for the project.

Last Day for Submission of Questions to aclauser@verizon.net is April 9, 2021 by 5:00 PM.

Bid packages are due by 12:55 PM on April 16, 2021 to Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA), c/o Brandywine Red Clay Alliance, 1760 Unionville-Wawaset Road, West Chester, PA 19382 and will be opened to the public at 1:00 PM, the same day at the same address.

Contractors should be ready to start work by May 17, 2021 with all work to be completed by September 15, 2021.
